But the program WAS on probation when the players that would have played

in the sixth year couldn't be recruited.Also, the AD came every week for the previous year to sit in on meetings etc..., so that he could make the best decision. Had he not liked what he was seeing and believed that the next year was a breakout year (which it was), he would have fired Beamer. Every time some coach is sucking up space, we hear the Beamer didn't get fired with no proper context. If your boss is visiting that tightly for a year, you are under the gun. Beamer was under the gun.
