Oh wait.. HE didn't. Youngest team in quite some time, and frankly, when things start going south it's uncanny how often hard hit balls happen to find a glove and marginal strikes are called balls. Baseball and softball is a game of inches, and you seem to find the chalk and black far more often when things are going well. Coaches don't play the game. It is easy on here to ask for small ball to manufacture runs, but that as an empty statement with no context in regards to defensive positioning, historical knowledge of the hitter and pitcher, etc. is useless and inflammatory on a board that consists of a handful of posters with a seemingly personal vendetta against the head coach. Duly praise Angela as a player, but softball was played with success and at a high level at Virginia Tech before and after her arrival. She took us to the promise land, but we have knocked on the door since and will again. As a VT donor and an all sports supporter, it would be refreshing to see Will, Chris, and/or Ricky inject some reality and non biased opinions on this board, and also reiterate that potential recruits and their families frequent this board. Folks with kids on the team and/or an obvious bias stick out like a sore thumb on the Olympic Sports Board. I haven't missed a home football game since 1994, but I seldom post on the football board. That's because I don't pretend to be smarter than I am. Be a FAN and be proud to be a Hokie. It's no skin off your a$$ if they lose, but it sure is fun to see them win, graduate, win and lose with class, and always embody the spirit of Ut Prosim.
