The main allure, imo, for the schools wouldn't be the ESPN contract

It would be the chance to play a neutral site game in a full arena against a decent opponent at a time when the alternative is paying to play a terrible team in your home arena at significantly less than full capacity.

Although, as I type that, I see the O&M glasses I'm wearing, as VCU certainly doesn't have an issue selling tickets and UVA and UofR I believe don't have the holiday no-show problems that VT has being in the middle of nowhere. Not sure what the incentive is as strong.
