I don't think there should be an asterisk

At least when it comes to Iran. Iran didn't even originally qualify to be in the world cup. They were added as Turkey's replacement. As for Russia, they historically don't send their A team to this event. It may have been different this year because of the world championships in Paris, but I would the US probably still wins 6-4 or 7-3 against Russia's A team. I think Gilman would beat anyone put in front of him by Russia. Maple, I would've liked to have seen him against Rashidov just as a measuring stick but it wouldn't have been a pretty result. Green and Stieber both likely lose because Russia has an embarrassment of riches at 65 and 70. Burroughs would more than likely beat Tsabalov again. Dake with the way he was wrestling wasn't losing to anyone. It would be interesting to see Dake up against Geduev here, but I doubt you see Geduev again after the doping scandal news broke. Taylor I think would beat Valiyev with relative ease. Cox/Sadulaev I wouldn't pick against Sadulaev against anyone not named Kyle Snyder, but I personally can't wait to see just how this match would actually unfold. Snyder and Gwiz mop up and the US wins 6-4.
