That's what I'm thinking for my setup.

Initially wanted to go with a one terabyte SSD, but I really don't need that large of a SSD. I'll just store files, pictures & music on the second HD.

I generally put my computer to sleep instead of shutting it down now to save "boot up" time. Won't have to worry about that with a SSD.
