Well the WNIT is owned by Triple Crown Sports, not the NCAA

Since Triple Crown Sports is a private entity, why shouldn't it make money from all the work/cost that goes into the WNIT? The WNIT is no different than the CBI or CIT in men's basketball. The NCAA purchased the rights to the NIT from the Metropolitan Intercollegiate Basketball Association (MIBA) in 2005. Prior to 2005, the sole purpose of the NIT was to make money for the MIBA. Heck you could even say the sole purpose of the NCAA Tournament is to make money for the NCAA and its members.
