I think Syracuse thrives more without Jimmy B
Time will tell. I know, hall of fame coach, all the wins, great runs, etc. He also has only 1 national title in over 40 years because of his slow down ball offense and matchup crazy zone defense which is nice, but he's had the athletes and talent over the years not to need to play that style. Syracuse has had the pick of the litter for most of New York City for decades. There's not a ton of schools in the Northeast that are powerhouses when you get North of Philly (Villanova). There's St. Johns, Seton Hall, UConn (will once again enter the equation with its new coach), and BC which isn't any good. I think Syracuse, when Jimmy B moves on, they go after a young and energetic coach that can recruit, and with NYC and Syracuse, they are going to get players, and the slow ball will be no more. I think they don't have the overall amount of wins on average that Jimmy B did, but I think after a 30 year period, they have more than 1 national title.
