That is why rankings don't mean anything
I saw DeLaurier get beaten like a JV player by a SoCon player in a high school game. Watched multiple AAU games where he did not score. Was 3rd best big on his AAU team. The lowest rated big on the team, Diakite, was the best, and although he was rated the lowest, he has had the best college career so far. I have evaluated players for more than 20 years and the people who rank high school kids all talk to each other and rate certain AAU program players much higher than they should, without ever seeing them play. While I respect how hard DeLaurier plays, I do not think he will ever start for Duke. If he was truly the 39th best player in his HS class, he would start at some point in his career.
