Charles Barkley was only 6'5 in height, but played like someone 6'9 or 6'10. What explains that is largely his arm length. He had freakishly long arms. Big difference in someone at 6'3 with arms 3 inches longer than someone else that's 6'3. That, I think anyway, not sure though, may explain why we hear the word length so commonly used.
