I would have thought you would have been grandfathered in.


Unless it was different back then. Laws in the Commonwealth go into effect on July 1st. Typically, if you were already 18 when it went into effect, I would have thought you would have been good to go. For example, my oldest sister was 20 in June of 1985 and turned 21 in October that year. She was still able to buy since she was already 18 before the law went into effect. My other sister turned 18 on July 5th that year, 5 days after I thought it went into effect. She missed out and had to wait another three years.
