I had Ford pickups for over 30 years, now I have a GMC

Learned to drive on a 1955 F100. Owned several 1977s, a 1985 and a 1991. The last two soured me on Ford trucks - too many problems that couldn't be resolved. I now have a 2004 GMC K1500 and It is problem free. I don't trust the newer Ford engines, the Chevy/GMC V-8s are fantastic.

As far as I concerned the 1999 thru 2006 Chevy/GMC were the optimal in pick-up truck design. Too many unnecessary gizmos and too much bulk added since. My only complaint is that you can't get a full-size half-ton with a manual transmission.
