Hey guys, here is a informative post (not by me, but copied from a guy on the PSU board) which does a good job of outlining the team situation - looking like OSU will likely be this year's team champion.

OSU fell into the shitpile, and came out smelling like a rose today.
Not only did they avoid having ranked guys upset - by the skin of their teeth - in 3 or 4 of the first round bouts, but.......


1) They benefitted from nearly every upset in the tourney, and are going to have easy paths to advance AND rack up bonus points tomorrow.

At 141 the OSU guy was "supposed" to face the 5 seed tomorrow..... but he was knocked off so they get the 12.... a toss up match becomes a likely OSU Bonus Point win

At 157 the OSU guy was "supposed" to wrestle the 2 seed tomorrow..... but he was upset and they get the 15..... a likely OSU loss becomes a likely Bonus point win

At 184 the OSU guy was "supposed" to wrestle the 7 seed tomorrow..... but he was knocked off and they get an unranked guy...... a likely OSU win becomes an almost certain Bonus point win.

At 197 the OSU guy was "supposed" to wrestle the 8 seed tomorrow.... but he was knocked off and they get another unranked guy...... a likely OSU win becomes an almost certain Bonus point win.

The upsets they stumbled into probably boost their point total by 8-10 points.

PSU, on the other hand, ran into just one "helper", and that was only replacing a 6 seed with an 11 for Joseph - probably a win either way.


When you look at tomorrows matchups for both squads, it is highly unlikely that OSU has anything less than a 20 point lead by dinner time tomorrow (and there is nothing Penn State can do about it - since there are ZERO head to head matchups tomorrow morning)....... and that would be nearly impossible to overcome

Its all been coming up roses for OSU, AND they are also wrestling quite well, AND they had an advantage coming into the tourney (about a 12 point edge based on seedings).

Add it all up - PSU will need to be near perfect the rest of the way - AND get some help....... but if anyone can do it, this squad (and Cael) are probably the one group who could.
