Injuries and consequently lack of depth really hurt them

From the linked story:

WVU finished the year with a 21-11 record after starting the season 13-0 and climbing as high as No. 9 in the AP and Coaches polls in week eight. WVU’s final RPI was No. 64 and it finished with a 1-7 record against Top 50 RPI opponents.

The Mountaineers battled injuries that depleted their depth all season. Guard Tynice Martin, expected to be the team’s go-to player, never played a game after suffering an off-season injury.

Four Mountaineer players averaged more than 32 minutes per game, while five played more than 29 minutes on average.
