Maybe that’s how he started but it’s ingrained in how he calls games


He always did it at VCU and for Squirrels baseball. It may be “fake” as in his radio persona voice, but it’s habitual and part of his style now. I’ve gotten used to it, took me a bit, but doesn’t bother me now

I do very much enjoy his b-ball knowledge and his ability to call fast action seamlessly
