Linebacker Sean Huelskamp has been a reliable contributor for Virginia Tech throughout his career, both on defense and on special teams. On Thursday, his success on special teams was rewarded. Head coach Justin Fuente has tapped him for the No. 25 honor this weekend vs. Miami.

Huelskamp, a redshirt senior from Centreville, Va., has battled injuries throughout his career, but has always been a solid player when healthy. He’s primarily played in a backup role throughout his career, but started two games during the 2015 season. In 2017, Huelskamp was elevated to the backup mike linebacker position after Tavante Beckett’s suspension from Virginia Tech. So far this season, Huelskamp has played in all eight games and has recorded five tackles.
No. 13 Virginia Tech travels to No. 10 Miami this weekend for Saturday’s 8.pm. kickoff. The game is being televised on ABC.
Another great example of a team player.
Maybe not the greatest player, but I’ve ALWAYS been glad his on our team. Be the man Sean!
Make a play Sean Make a BIG play!
