Virginia Tech-Notre Dame Set For 3:30 on NBC

Virginia Tech’s football game with Notre Dame will kick off at 3:30pm EST on November 19.  It will be televised by NBC.  This will be the first meeting between the Hokies and the Fighting Irish.  The two programs will meet again in Blacksburg on October 13, 2018.

Notre Dame is coming off a 10-3 season.  They were defeated 44-28 in the Fiesta Bowl by Ohio State.

Two other 2016 game times are known.  Thursday night contests with Miami and Pitt will be televised by ESPN at 7:30.  The Battle at Bristol against Tennessee is expected to be a night game, though no official announcement has been made.

The game time for Virginia Tech’s season opener against Liberty has also not been announced.  However, Tech’s games against FCS opponents have been played at 3:30 and 4:00 ever since Whit Babcock was hired as athletic director.

In other news, Virginia Tech officially announced that Devin Wilson will be playing football and basketball for the Hokies.  He will not join the basketball team until the conclusion of football season.  His scholarship will count towards the football limit of 85, but it will not count towards the basketball limit of 13.

  1. If I became commissioner of the NCAA, one of the first things I would do is cancel the Notre Dame-NBC deal.

  2. Any idea how many tickets VT will receive and how high in the pecking order you will need to be to get a ticket through the VT ticket office?
