In-State Lineman Silas Dzansi Commits To Virginia Tech

Hylton (Woodbridge, VA) offensive lineman/defensive end Silas Dzansi announced this afternoon that he has verbally committed to Virginia Tech. Dzansi, a senior and previous Delaware State pledge, will attend Fork Union Military Academy next fall according to Andy Bitter of the Roanoke Times.

Per InsideNova.com, Dzansi is an inexperienced but athletically gifted prospect with good size. The 6’6″, 265-pound prospect first began playing football as a sophomore in high school and has since seen action at offensive tackle, tight end, defensive end defensive tackle. Dzansi plays on Hylton’s varsity basketball squad as well.

Nineteen prospects have now committed to Virginia Tech in the class of 2016. Eight of those recruits have already enrolled while the remaining 11 are expected to sign letters of intent on February 3.

We’ll have more with Tech’s newest pledge soon. In the meantime, check out two sets of highlights below.

  1. Sounds like Barton Simmons from 247 certainly likes him (VT lands a steal in latest pickup). His raw athleticism at his size was apparently ridiculous at the The Opening in D.C. “Dzansi has been given a high three-star grade on 247Sports and don’t be surprised to see him blossom into one of Virginia Tech’s top players out of this 2016 class.”

    1. Thanks. I was about to ask if this was someone we were reaching on, as the first reviews I saw showed 2 stars and no other major offers, but the article above noting he first played as a Sophomore, and your comment from 24/7 makes me fee a bit more optimistic with this offer and acceptance.
