Virginia Tech Brings Phillip Patterson Back In The Fold

After reconsidering his options, Bayside (Virginia Beach, VA) senior wide receiver prospect Phillip Patterson announced via Twitter that he has re-committed to Virginia Tech.

Patterson originally committed to Virginia Tech on August 1 this year. When Frank Beamer announced his retirement, however, the 3-star wide receiver/defensive back reopened his recruitment. North Carolina, Penn State and Wake Forest made pitches to the standout senior, but Patterson has decided to stick with his original decision.

Bayside head coach Jon White said last week that Patterson was in the process of scheduling official visits. In light of his recommitment, though, the only official I expect Patterson to take will be to Virginia Tech.

Patterson, who stands 6’2″ and weighs 185 pounds, earned all-conference honors at wide receiver and defensive back his senior season. Virginia Tech is recruiting him initially as a wide receiver.

Stay tuned to TSL for comments from Patterson in the coming days.
