Reports: CB Kareem Felder De-commits From Virginia Tech

St. Frances Academy (Baltimore, MD) junior cornerback prospect Kareem Felder is no longer committed to Virginia Tech, multiple outlets reported this afternoon.

Felder verbally committed to Virginia Tech on February 7; however, he took unofficial visits to Clemson and Ohio State earlier this month. Clemson and Ohio State are now the perceived frontrunners, with Ohio State getting 100-percent of the Crystal Ball predictions on 247Sports.

The 5’11”, 170-pound Felder is a consensus 3-star prospect. His decision to de-commit drops Virginia Tech 2016 Class from 10 prospects to nine. The class still includes athlete JoVonn Quillen Jr., wide receivers Sam Denmark and Conner ODonnell, offensive lineman Thomas Jarret Hopple, defensive tackle Clay Dean, linebacker Vic Greene, cornerbacks Troy Pride Jr. and Myles Wolfolk, and safety/running back Reggie Floyd.

Cornerback is one of main positions of focus for the Virginia Tech staff in the class of 2016. Coach Frank Beamer and company will get a chance to impress other top corner prospects, including Lake Taylor (Norfolk, VA) star Wayne Davis, tomorrow at the Spring Game.

  1. Some stick and some don’t stick. This is life in the recruitment world. If he isn’t 110% Hokie then farewell and good luck.

  2. So long Kareem and good luck. Folks that De -Commit were not really committed in the first place. We will be fine.

  3. I believe Felder is another one of the recruits that Frank Beamer ‘reeled-in’ outside of the Blacksburg K-Mart. Nine 2016 commits and not one game breaker. Seven 4 stars and two 2 stars; what a bevy of excitement. Even Tech Sideline felt it necessary to ‘cheat’ by making all nine recruits 3 stars. Rivals is also embarrassed to the point that they simple have ignored commit Conner O’Donnell. As you may recall, O’Donnell is the follow-up K-Mart ‘tiger’ recruit who weighs in at 160 pounds and looks like he is 13 years old. Wait; what is that ‘cry’ off in the distance about “TRUST THE COACHES” !!! Well, after the recent Wake Forest ‘fiasco’ and the present Ohio State points spread of 19.5,
I believe that I will let YOU GUYS trust the coaches.

    1. Don’t go thru life stuck on stupid. Our recruiting is going very well right now.
      You’re clueless

      1. Ha! I have to write that one down. Too funny. Thanks for saying what the rest of us were thinking.

    2. What the heck man?!!! We are off to a good start this year. And will only get better once we start getting some of the top instate players to commit

  4. One spot where we’re better than OSU…the secondary. Probably wanted to go where he could play next yr. that won’t happen here

  5. People jumped him when he said he would yawn about this commit for now and check back in 7months. I guess I will say it for him………

It looks like UVABASHER called this decommittment right back on February 7th when the article announcing his commitment was made.

Maybe we get him back but notice his friend has been committed to Clemson for a while some months back and Kareem supposedly took to twitter that he was still committed to Hokies then. That might have been the sign of death ……….this has been stewing awile.

    1. Thank you for the shout out. I did call it and a few people jumped on me for it. We are stacked at cb so that’s one position we can afford to lose a 3 star recruit.
