Hokies Score First Class Of 2016 Commit

Virginia Tech football received its first commitment in the class of 2016 today, when Huntersville (NC) wide receiver Conner ODonnell pledged to the Hokies. The 6’0″, 160-pound prospect revealed his decision through Twitter.

TSL will have more on O’Donnell soon. As a sophomore at Southlake Christian, he tallied 48 receptions for over 1,300 yards. He will attend First Assembly Christian his junior year. (Check out highlights of the newest Hokie by clicking here.)

Coach Frank Beamer and company hope this is the start of a big recruiting weekend. 247Sports reports that 5-Star defensive end Josh Sweat of Oscar Smith (Chesapeake, VA) is visiting today. Multiple outlets report that class of 2015 offensive lineman Mike Arnold, a Florida native, is visiting Blacksburg this weekend. Indianapolis (IN) rising senior cornerback Adonis Williamson tweeted that he is visiting Tech as well this weekend, along with VT class of 2015 commit Eric Whitehead. Arnold and Williamson are two of Tech’s top targets at their respective positions.
