UPDATES – Sunday, October 27, 8:20 am
– Lawrence Central (Indianapolis, IN) senior linebacker Brandon Lee arrived in Blacksburg on Saturday morning, beginning his official visit. An official can last two days, so he may stay through Monday morning. We’ll see.
– As expected, 4-star defensive tackle Derrick Nnadi of Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) did make it. He tweeted the following pre-game…
Tech game is already live, stadium is stuffed
— Derrick Nnadi 🇳🇬 (@DerrickNnadi) October 26, 2013
– Stonewall Jackson (Manassas, VA) star Tim Settle , one of the top defensive tackle prospects in the class of 2015, was in attendance as well. He tweeted the following post-game…
VT was great today but it was really cold go #Hokies
— Tim Settle Jr (@tim_settle) October 26, 2013
– Ocean Lakes sophomore defensive back Levonta Taylor, a player with offers from N.C. State and Old Dominion, did not make it after suffering an injury on Friday night. The injury does not appear to be serious, but we will check in with Dolphins head coach Chris Scott for more next week.
– Trinity Episcopal (Richmond, VA) sophomore Anthony Roberson made an unofficial visit. The 6’4″ prospect is a standout in football as a wide receiver and basketball as a guard. He was joined by teammate Abraham Ferrell-Logan, a senior linebacker/athlete. Neither player has an offer from VT as of now.
– Class of 2016 prospects Taurus Carroll (WR, Stafford HS in Fredericksburg, VA) and Sylvester Mayers (RB, Glen Allen HS in Virginia), made it to Lane.
Below is the original “Weekend Visitors” report posted on Friday, October 25. I’ve added the list of those confirmed visitors and removed Taylor.
Official Visitors, Class of 2014
– Brandon Lee , LB, 6’3″, 225 pounds, Lawrence Central (Indianapolis, IN)
In addition to this weekend’s trip to Blacksburg, Lee plans to take an official to Missouri the weekend of November 1-3. The talented prospect revealed via Twitter that he will commit on November 8 and the finalists are California, Louisville, Missouri, and Virginia Tech.
– Isaiah Ford , WR, 6’2″, 175 pounds, Trinity Christian (Jacksonville, FL)
Ford is currently committed to Louisville, but he has been open about seriously considering Virginia Tech. He reportedly will take an official to Tech this weekend. Wherever Ford ends up, he wants to play both football and basketball.
Trinity Christian is also home to coveted junior linebacker Jeffery Holland, who made Virginia Tech one of his many unofficial stops this past summer. Not sure if Holland will make a return trip to Blacksburg this weekend.
Unofficial Visitors, Class of 2014
– Derrick Nnadi , DT, 6’1″, 305 pounds, Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA)
Nnadi will “definitely” be in Lane Stadium on Saturday, Ocean Lakes head coach Chris Scott has confirmed to TechSideline.com. Virginia Tech is the strong favorite in my opinion, although I’m not necessarily expecting a commitment this weekend because Nnadi seems intent on making official visits after his senior season. Florida State, Ohio State, and Penn State are Virginia Tech’s chief competition here, but again I really like Tech’s position.
– Steven Sobczak , DT, 6’2″, 300 pounds, Massaponax (Fredericksburg, VA)
Sobczak has committed to James Madison, but as reported here on TechSideline.com earlier this week, he is still weighing his options and Virginia Tech certainly is under consideration. Massaponax head coach Eric Ludden did not confirm Sobczak’s visit plans, but our sources indicate he will be in Lane Stadium on Saturday on an unofficial. The standout senior is not sold on Virginia Tech’s grayshirt offer at this point, but he is we’ll see what happens after this weekend.
Sobczak is a friend and teammate of current Hokie class of 2014 commit Vinny Mihota .

You need to change your sheets!
LMAO!!!
Wish I could be there! Give these protenial Hokies something to remenber about crowds at Lane so that they can tell others what the experience was like. It may be cold outdoors but not in Lane.
Wow so Derrick Nnadi has grown two inches? Thats impressive.
I bet he is 6’1″
Just 1, I’ve seen him listed at 6’2″
Better not grow any taller – he’ll find himself on the OL.
