TSL is Relocating to the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center

VTCRC

TechSideline.com is pleased to announce that we are relocating to the Virginia Tech Corporate Research Center (VTCRC).

After nearly 15 years of operating from our office in Radford, we’re making the move this Thursday and Friday (May 24 and 25) to a suite at 2020 Kraft Drive in the VTCRC.

We are very excited about this move, because it will bring us closer to the Virginia Tech Athletics programs and the university community in general.

This move won’t just improve our ability to cover Virginia Tech Athletics, service our site sponsors, and conduct business in general; it will also support new initiatives that we’ll be announcing throughout the summer.

Everything has a time and place, and our Radford office served us well for over a decade. Lately, we have found ourselves making more and more trips to Blacksburg to interact with athletics personnel, conduct interviews, attend press conferences, meet with our sponsors, and generally conduct site-related business and Virginia Tech-related business.

We look forward to this move as a way to improve our site and our coverage of Virginia Tech Athletics, and we thank VTCRC President Joe Meredith and his staff and operations people for all their help in making this possible. See you in Blacksburg!

  1. Well this is good news. Now expand your site to include women’s basketball and widen your fanbase. What say?

    1. Sure. We plan on having a WBB writer.

That doesn’t mean we’re going to write up every game, but we’ll have improved coverage.

  2. Congrats! It’s a nice space. As long as you continue to make regular payments to me, I will not reveal the exact location. 😉

  3. Radford? haha. I always thought you were in Blacksburg. I dont know whether to be happy or disappointed? 🙂

  4. Two questions:
    1) Will there be an Open House (even better with an open bar)

    2) Will you be tailgating at the new location?

    1. 1.) Maybe

2.) Probably not, unless I learn that there’s a gameday shuttle from here. Then, maybe.

  5. Why was TSL (“T” being for Tech, as in, Virginia Tech) in Radford, VA in the first place? Good luck with the move to the Big City!

    1. I live in Radford, and the rent was in an old buddy’s law firm and was REALLY cheap.

From that point on (2004), it was just inertia, mainly.

  6. Mom’s garage finally too small? You did say TSL changes were coming…who knew?

“Well we’re movin on up, To the [south]east side. To a deluxe apartment in the sky. Movin on up To the [south]east side. We finally got a piece of the pie.”

    1. Eh, there’s not really much to look at. One-room office, 400 square feet, carpeted floor, couple of desks and some bookshelves. Once we get it set up properly, I may post something.

  7. Congrats and when’s the tailgating party in the parking lot to get to know your new neighbors so the members can attend. 🙂

  8. Now we can camp out to see our idols like we did at Abbey Road Studios. TSL Scruffs!

  9. Are you going to sign up for the dining plan at Dietrick? I hear they serve a mean New England Style Scrod

  10. Now Chris can peddle his bike to and from the office. Saves gas. 🙂

  11. Further than that now. Research Center Drive is now cut. Must go from your thumb via your elbow to get to your little finger.

  12. Nice! Beautiful area there.

    I only have one question…

Will this help with recruiting? 🙂

    1. If Fu had just let *me* talk to Devyn Ford, he’d be a Hokie.

      😉

      1. it’s never too late.
        it’s never too late.
        it’s never too late.
but i’ll take TGary or ZKnight or … both!

hope the new digs are all y’all want and more.

btw: never been to VTCRC; is it close enough
to tail gate and walk to LaneWorsham?

        Go Hokies!

        1. Not really. Google Maps says it’s a 32-minute, 1.6-mile walk via the “CRC Trail.”

  13. Would it be possible to have a huge tailgate there before a game? After a game? Both?

    1. It’s about a mile and a quarter walking distance between the VTCRC & Lane Stadium. Of course, if you’re drunk it will not be as straight a path. 😆

      1. The rolling Hokie drunkard made the rolling Hokie road.

        w/apologies to GK Chesterton

    1. That reminds me … gotta have an air mattress stored at the new place. 🤪
