Virginia Tech Football Finishes Ranked in Both Polls

With last night’s championship game concluded, the final college football polls of 2017 are out, and Virginia Tech checks in at No. 24 in the AP Poll and No. 25 in the Coaches Poll.

Second Year in a Row in Both Polls

There were 16 Associated Press and Coaches Polls this season, and Virginia Tech was ranked in all but one of them. The Hokies fell out of the rankings for one week after losing to Miami and Georgia Tech in consecutive games.

The Hokies were among four ACC teams in the final polls:

Clemson: No. 4, both polls
Miami: No. 13, both polls
NC State: No. 23, both polls
Virginia Tech: No. 24 AP, No. 25 Coaches

This is the second season in a row that Virginia Tech appears in the final rankings, after four straight seasons of missing it (2012-2015).
