All year long, OXVT (@OX_VT on Twitter) tracks the player rankings for ACC Coastal Division recruiting, and he ranks every football recruit for every Coastal Division team, per the 247Sports.com composite rankings.
Now that the 2018 February Signing Day is out of the way and every team’s recruiting class is complete, here’s the final infographic.
OX has the teams ranked by Median player ranking, but if you rank them via Average player ranking, you get the following (a slight change):
- Miami: 0.9099
- UNC: 0.8766
- VT: 0.8746
- Pitt: 0.8582
- Duke: 0.8574
- GT: 0.8476
- UVA: 0.8439
On paper, Miami’s recruiting class is tops in the Coastal, and it’s not close. The Hokies and Tar Heels are tightly grouped behind the ‘Canes, then Pitt and Duke are clustered together, and Georgia Tech and Virginia bring up the rear.
When you look at overall ACC national class rankings by 247Sports, which takes the number of recruits into account, you get the following Coastal Division recruiting rankings:
8. Miami (23 recruits)
23. UNC (21)
24. VT (26)
46. Pitt (21)
51. GT (21)
61. Duke (16)
64. Virginia (21)
Will – you do such great work for us, I hope you didn’t spend much time on that graphic. Keep up the GOOD work.
Thanks, but OXVT did the graphic, not me. He works hard at it and does a great job.
Why in the hell am I getting Amazon ads for UNC Puke Blue gear.
Because the ads are context-sensitive, based on article content, and UNC is mentioned frequently in the article.
Both Average and Median are on the Graphic my man 👊
Yep, but in the lower right-hand corner, the schools are sorted by Median. If you sort by Average, it flips Duke and Pitt.
Ha – honestly neither are sorted – not even by median – oops 🤦♂️
