After Virginia Tech’s win over Boston College last night, and all the ACC action through January, here’s a brief look at the ACC standings.
The Hokies’ road win earned them some separation in the loss column, and they’re now tied with Miami and NC State at 5-4, halfway through ACC play.
Virginia Tech has a chance to climb even further up the ladder in the next week, as the Hokies host Miami Saturday (2 PM, ESPN) and NC State Wednesday night (9 PM, RSN).
Two victories would give the Hokies, at a minimum, sole possession of fifth place. That would also give Virginia Tech five wins in a row, which isn’t unprecedented. In 2015-16, Virginia Tech won their last five ACC regular season games to go from 5-8 in the conference to 10-8, good for a tie for seventh place in the conference.
