Another scholarship is open for Virginia Tech men’s basketball.

Mark Berman of The Roanoke Times has reported that forward Seth LeDay will leave the program after redshirting last season. LeDay was forced to redshirt after transferring to Virginia Tech from JUCO.

LeDay, who is the brother of Zach LeDay, who graduated last season, will have two years of eligibility remaining.

The departure of LeDay opens up another scholarship for Virginia Tech men’s basketball. The Hokies are currently pursuing two recruits to add to the team, including 5-star guard MJ Walker. Walker, who took an official visit to UCLA last weekend, has held the Hokies in high regard since visiting on April 22. Virginia Tech is also after Connecticut transfer Juwan Durham, who will reportedly visit on May 28.

  1. I would think he saw the writing on the wall, of how much playing time he was going to get… probably not much… if Clarke and Blackshear are healthy enough to play.

  2. I agree it seems weird. Sit out whole year and then decide to leave program? I would have cast off some of the other dead wood before asking him to leave. Maybe there is more to the story.

I was hoping to see him in the orange and maroon. Especially how his brother contributed to our program.

  3. This one feels “weird”…Good Luck Seth! Was hoping to see you play as a Hokie!

  4. Hope he finds a great new home, will be following how he does at another school.
