Virginia Tech 2017 basketball signee Nickeil Alexander-Walker is ranked as a 5-star player and the #20 prospect in the nation, in ESPN’s final 2017 college basketball recruiting rankings.

That lofty ranking cements “NAW” as one of the highest-rated recruits ever signed by the Hokies. Back in 1982, Dell Curry was named to the McDonald’s All-American All-Star Game, one of just 25 players named to the team. In 2011, Dorian Finney-Smith was ranked the #18 player in the nation by ESPN.

Alexander-Walker is a 6-5 shooting guard. Combined with 4-star 6-1 point guard Wabissa Bede and 3-star 6-6 power forward PJ Horne, they comprise a recruiting class ranked #15 in the nation by ESPN, #18 by Rivals.com, #24 by Scout.com, and #13 in 247Sports.com’s composite rankings.

  3. With so many top players going one and done, what is coach Williams’ history of retaining top players for several years?

    1. Darn good question … I passed it on to Chris Coleman as a Friday Q&A question. Look for him to answer it this week. Thanks!

  4. The future seems so bright I may not be able to take off my cheap sunglasses.
