Redshirting was a big topic in this week’s Virginia Tech press conference, so I thought I’d take this time to talk about the subject that is near and dear to my heart.

For the most part, we know who the Hokies are going to redshirt and who they aren’t. However, Brent Pry left the door open for a couple of guys who have been playing to still redshirt, and he also noted a couple of non-freshmen who could also end up taking a redshirt year.

First, here are the four players who cannot redshirt because they’re already over the four-game limit…

DE Keyshawn Burgos: 5 defensive snaps, 76 special teams snaps
RB Bryce Duke: 44 offensive snaps, 86 special teams snaps
CB Mansoor Delane: 273 defensive snaps, 20 special teams snaps
TE Dae’Quan Wright: 111 offensive snaps, 25 special teams snaps
