Aycen Stevens Commits To Virginia Tech

Aycen Stevens

Aycen Stevens
Linebacker, Class of 2023
Decatur Central, Indianapolis, IN
6-4, 220

Virginia Tech picked up a commitment from Indianapolis (IN) linebacker Aycen Stevens on Wednesday afternoon. He is the 11th commitment of the 2023 recruiting class and the second linebacker to verbal to the Hokies in as many days, joining Tavorian Copeland of Appomattox County (VA).

Stevens chose the Hokies over two other finalists – Iowa State and Purdue. He also held scholarship offers from Nebraska, Duke, Minnesota, Cincinnati, Indiana, Tennessee and West Virginia. He is ranked by 247 as the No. 10 prospect in the state of Indiana. On3 also ranks him No. 10 in the state, while Rivals has him at No. 7.

Stevens is listed anywhere between 6-4, 210 (247), 6-4, 200 (On3) and 6-5, 230 (Rivals). For the sake of argument, we’re going to list him at 6-4, 220 on TSL. He is a linebacker with a big frame who TSL currently projects to play the Mike position, though he could also play on the short side of the field at Will.

Here’s the full list of 2023 commits for Virginia Tech football:

  1. Good LB recruiting and hopefully a few more the next few days. This kid looks like a baller!

  2. Who knows how he will turn out, but if you get a recruit to pick you over Iowa State and Cincinnati that says something……that’s a very good sign!

    1. Hi, my name is Brent Pry and I was the LB coach at PedU. Nuff said against equal competition. We’ll see if he can pull in some of these higher recruits in the next few days.

  3. Really like his “to the ball” acceleration, especially moving into the backfield for a loss. Hope to look back on this day 2-3 years from now and say “Yeah, we got a good one that day”.
Welcome to Hokie Heaven Mr. Stevens!

  4. Gotta like the frame. Is it me or are we in a big need for some DL and so far haven’t addressed those needs yet?
