Lots of offers have gone out to defensive prospects from the new Virginia Tech coaching staff. Recently we focused on the offensive side of the ball, but this week we’ll switch gears and talk about some defensive targets that you may want to keep an eye on in the months to come.

The players listed in today’s article don’t necessarily represent a complete look at Virginia Tech’s entire defensive recruiting board. However, I chose them based on things like the recency of their offers, whether they’ve visited or plan to visit, and gut feel on whether or not I think they are legitimate targets for the Hokies.

Whenever there is a coaching change, it can be tough to use the 247 database to get an accurate reflection of who the new staff is recruiting. There are many prospects listed with offers from Justin Fuente’s staff who are not being pursued by Brent Pry’s staff. As time goes by, I’m sure we’ll get more evidence of the Hokies adding guys to their board at each position. For now, don’t consider this list to be set it stone, but rather use it as a casual glance at current VT recruiting targets.
