Good to see you pointed out how Gaines and Ekanem talked about how much Fuente infused into the program when he got there and changed their whole experience. Do agree that keeping Bud was a huge downfall
Concur, in retrospect, that Justin’s first mistake was retaining Bud, although Hokie Nation probably would have never accepted him if he had not. Make that 20/20 hindsight based mostly on TSL’ s, primarily Chris’, insights and inside information about Bud’s lack of commitment (or maybe ability) to recruit in the current era/atmosphere. No malice intended; it’s just that Bud was who he was, as many of us old school seniors are.
