Thanks for talking about what many of us want to hear. Tough topics.
Nice insightful podcast. However I’m not sure that Babcock will do the right thing at the end of the season, not after he trashed the fans by comparing VT fans to a mob and essentially saying that “little donors” don’t matter. Babcock’s contract should never been extended before he has fully addressed the football situation.
Whit wouldn’t have been able to hire a new coach without that extension.
Whit is an โup-facingโ manager. He grooms relationships with the suits that run the big show and seldom reaches out to the little people, who pay most of his revenues.
I had a few bosses like him during a 40 year business career. He intentionally delayed firing Fu to get his own deal extended. Crafty guy.
He will do the political calculus prior to any decision, impactful to the organization. He doesnโt impress me as a football AD…no passion for the sport.
Depressing state of the program, but great podcast. Wonderful insight. Go Hokies ๐
