Running Back, Class of 2022
Manchester High School, Midlothian, VA
Virginia Tech picked up a huge commitment when 4-star in-state running back Ramon Brown picked the Hokies over Penn State and a host of other major programs. He is the No. 9 player in the state of Virginia by 247 Sports, and the No. 209 overall recruit in the country. ESPN ranks him as the No. 6 player in the state and No. 128 overall. He announced his decision live on CBS Sports.
Brown plays for Manchester High School in Midlothian, VA. He was recruited by area recruiter Ryan Smith and running backs coach Adam Lechtenberg. Brown was rumored for awhile to be a Penn State lean, but officially committed to the Hokies several weeks after a weekend visit to Blacksburg that he described as the “total package”. Brown is also listed with Power 5 scholarship offers from South Carolina, Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky, Michigan, Michigan State, UNC, Rutgers, Virginia and Wake Forest.
Brown rushed for 871 yards and 14 touchdowns in an abbreviated high school season in the spring of 2021. He took official visits to Virginia Tech, West Virginia, South Carolina, Penn State and Maryland. He is the highest-ranked player in the Richmond area in the 2022 recruiting class. Brown is also the second running back to commit to the Hokies in the class of 2022, joining Bryce Duke of Tuscarora High School (Leesburg, VA). He is the 18th overall commitment of the class.
