Kyree Moyston is projected to play defensive end at Virginia Tech.

Kyree Moyston
Defensive End, Class of 2022
King’s Fork High School, Suffolk, VA
6-4, 220

In-state defensive end Kyree Moyston (King’s Fork, Suffolk, VA) made a verbal commitment to Virginia Tech as part of the in-state defensive line recruiting trend that we’re seeing in the 2022 recruiting class.

The Hokies have also targeted important in-state defensive linemen such as Bryson Jennings, Rashaud Pernell and Lemar Law (VT commit).

Moyston was an early target for the Hokies, and his 6-4 frame makes him an ideal candidate for Justin Hamilton’s scheme.  He is ranked the No. 27 prospect in the state of Virginia, and he chose Virginia Tech over offers from Arizona, Indiana, Michigan State and Pitt.  He is the 14th overall commitment of the 2022 class, and the first defensive end.

Moyston took his visit to Blacksburg in mid-to-late June, stayed for several days, and then canceled an upcoming visit to Indiana.  He attends the same high school as former Virginia Tech safety Chuck Clark.

  1. Got potential, but the #27 Prospect in the State of Virginia is not a big Shout out. This aint gonna get it done. Does Anyone remember Doug Doughty’s Top 25 for Years in the Roanoke Times-it was like the Bible round here. Maybe Mike Gentry can turn Him into a Monster-oh, that’s right-He aint there. We gotta compete-can’t Recruit Projects-it’s too late. Recruiting gotta get alot better.

    1. In Doughty’s old Lists- #27 usually ended up at William & Mary for God’s Sakes. Fuentes is killin Us! Just a bad Hire-looked good on Paper. No Charisma, Rah-Rah- and a very poor Recruiter-could take Bacock down with Him.

  2. He is Lemar Law’s cousin- I’m sure they want to play next to each other on the DL.

    They won’t tell anybody.

  3. looks like a twitchy quick, long armed, tackling machine who came out of the locker room with a mad, mad attitude and chip on his shoulder. a good Hokie DE if i ever saw one.

looks like D is going to be lots of fun, soon. ( shaking keys )

thanks recruiting staff, coaches and relentless Hokies for your work in getting this and our other commitments so far.

    Go Hokies! Reach for Excellence.

  5. Looks good. BTW and with the exception of one of the opponents that I don’t recognize, all of the games in the film are among the city of Suffolk’s three high schools during the Covid year.
