Virginia Tech picked up a commitment on Sunday night from Lee County (GA) safety Malcolm Jones, who took an official visit to Blacksburg over the weekend.
Tech was the first Power 5 offer for Jones, who plays wide receiver and safety for Lee County. As a wide receiver, he shows good hands and athleticism, and as a safety he is a big hitter. He was one of three players to commit to the Hokies over the weekend, joining tight end Matt Hoffman and linebacker Xavier Simmons.
Virginia Tech now has 10 total commitments for the 2022 class.
