Christian Darrisaw Selected No. 23 Overall By The Minnesota Vikings

Virginia Tech offensive tackle Christian Darrisaw was selected No. 23 overall by the Minnesota Vikings in the 2021 NFL Draft, one pick after teammate Caleb Farley went to the Tennessee Titans at No. 22.

This is the third time in program history that the Hokies have had a pair of first round picks in the same draft.  In 2003, DeAngelo Hall and Kevin Jones went in the first round, and then the Edmunds brothers also went in the first round in the 2018 draft.

Darrisaw was the No. 2 graded offensive tackle in the country in 2020, coming in less than one point behind BYU’s Brady Christensen.  He will sign an initial NFL rookie contract worth $13.4 million, with a signing bonus of $7.1 million.
