Virginia Tech picked up a commitment from 3-star quarterback Alex Orji on Thursday afternoon. He plays for Sachse High School in Sachse, TX, which is in the Dallas suburbs.

Orji is rated the No. 14 dual threat quarterback in the country and the No. 101 overall player in Texas according to 247Sports. He is 6-3, 225, and he picked the Hokies over a reported offer list of Baylor, Houston, Kansas, Michigan, Oklahoma, TCU, Texas Tech, Vanderbilt and UVA.
Orji’s brothers play at Vanderbilt, and his mother is a surgeon in the Dallas area. He totaled 2,627 yards and 27 touchdowns during the 2020 season.
He is the fourth commitment of the 2022 class, and the second quarterback, joining Georgia’s Devin Farrell.
