Virginia Tech Adds Graduate Transfer Tae Daley

Virginia Tech has added Vanderbilt graduate transfer Tae Daley to the secondary, and he is expected to compete for a starting role immediately in 2021.

Daley (6-0, 198), a senior, started for the Commodores in 2018 and 2019 before opting out of the 2020 season.  He has played free safety, strong safety and cornerback, and could potentially fill in anywhere in the secondary for the Hokies.

In 2018, he recorded 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks.  In 2019, he picked off three passes.  For his career, he has 108 tackles.

Daley is originally from Northside High School in Warner Robins, GA.

  1. Brewmeister wasn’t going to be the starting QB to start the season so any QB that thinks they can beat out BB, KK, or TB for the starting job. Injuries could also play a factor.
