Earlier this spring and late last fall, Virginia Tech’s TX2VT movement yielded commitments from a pair of four-star players in Dematrius Davis and Latrell Neville. Though both have since decommitted and given pledges elsewhere, the movement isn’t necessarily dead.
On Thursday, the Hokies added their first Lone Star State commitment since Neville backtracked on his decision last month. North Side (TX) three-star wide receiver Da’Wain Lofton gave Virginia Tech his commitment. Now, he’s looking to resuscitate the TX2VT moniker somewhat.
“Hopefully, I am,” Lofton said when asked if he can reignite the movement. “I want to make Virginia Tech great, so we’ve got to get as many commits as we can.”
