Thomas chose the Hokies over Duke, Kansas State, UCF, Memphis, and others. He had a prolific junior season in Georgia, rushing for 1,942 yards, racking up 638 receiving yards, and scoring 36 total touchdowns. The Hokies offered Thomas on May 7, and the relationship between both parties has grown since that date.
Thomas committed to the Hokies despite not having taken a visit thanks to the NCAA’s mandated dead period. He was recruited by running backs coach Adam Lechtenberg. Area recruiter Vance Vice also played a role.

If he is only 6’0 he is playing against some smaller competition for sure. But, he still outruns the smaller guys. And can catch and runs hard. If he puts on 20-30 lbs. he will be tough to bring down. Nice pickup.
True…not much competition in that part of GA. However, he is right in Clemson’s back yard
I think we found a “diamond in the rough” that folks say can not happen in this day and time.
Run to daylight. Great pick up!
He committed without having visited the campus. I’d say that bodes well for him sticking to his commitment since the campus‘s beauty & our athletic facilities are a huge attraction.
The University of Virginia Tech?
No worries. There is Nothing to see here when we read this or when recruits distinguish us in this way. It’s truly meant as a compliment to the Hokies.
But afterall, we are in fact a university…….
Great film and I love the attitude he shows in his announcement. Welcome to Hokie Nation!
A little confused why neither 247 or rivals had this kid ranked despite a nice offer list
Fair question, I’d like to hear the answer too.
He does appear to have good speed relative to the competition. Judging from the video He certainly won’t go down with an arm tackle at least.
He looks bigger than 180 and he actually might be 6 foot tall and not two inches shorter like some recruit profiles.
Because he plays at AAA in Georgia (out of 7A classifications)
I’ve wondered if the star rankings this year are comparable to previous years. Not much chance to evaluate given not much chance to travel, so perhaps there is a little less revisions to star ratings. I don’t follow the ratings services though. Has anyone who does noticed star ratings being more static this year?
That’s Lee Suggs all over again. Finds a seam, quick burst, great speed. Love this pickup.
You had me at “Lee Suggs”.
How is he just a 3star Fast
Looking forward to watching him roam Worsham Field. Welcome aboard!!!!!
His highlights video excited me enough to watch it 3x and just imagine ……
That is a long-legged RB.
Reminds me of Ryan Williams a little.
Born to be a Hokie!
Looks bigger than 180!
Love him!
He just outruns everyone when he hits the seam….
