Wide Receiver, Class of 2021
Bradley Central, Cleveland, TN
Virginia Tech picked up a commitment from Tennessee wide receiver Tray Curry on Tuesday afternoon. Curry is the 14th commitment of the 2021 recruiting class, and he joins Jaylen Jones as the second wide receiver commitment.
The Hokies were the first Power 5 program to offer Curry, and that offer came way back in August of 2018. In April he announced a top 10 of Tech, Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee, Nebraska, Texas A&M, South Carolina, Mississippi State, Arkansas and Auburn. Curry once committed to Tennessee back in May, per this article, though obviously he didn’t stay that way for long.
At 6-4, 210, Curry projects as an outside receiver for the Hokies. He is ranked the No. 65 wide receiver in the country by the 247 Composite rankings. His highest rating among all the recruiting sites is by ESPN, which ranks him as a 4-star recruit, the No. 287 player in the country, and the No. 7 player in Tennessee.
