Virginia Tech picked up a commitment from North Stafford High School (Stafford, VA) defensive back Shawn Asbury II on Sunday evening. He is the 12th commitment of Tech’s 2021 recruiting class.

Asbury received an offer from the Hokies this past week, and he didn’t waste much time in committing. He had been a long-term target of the Pitt Panthers, but the Hokies jumped to the top of the list once they came through with a scholarship offer.
Asbury is ranked the No. 37 prospect in the state of Virginia. He is Tech’s third commitment of the last week, joining athlete Keli Lawson and quarterback Tahj Bullock. He is expected to play nickel or cornerback for the Hokies.
Asbury did not play until the 7th week of the 2019 season as he was rehabbing a torn ACL.
