Making an announcement, like a commitment, on Father’s Day is understandable. But on Sunday, North Stafford (Va.) defensive back Shawn Asbury chose to honor both parents when he committed to Virginia Tech. His mother’s birthday fell on the same day.
“Celebrating your mom and your dad on the same day, you can’t get better than that,” Asbury said.
