Tahj Bullock
Quarterback, Class of 2021
St. Peter’s Prep, Jersey City, New Jersey
6-4, 223

Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment from New Jersey quarterback Tahj Bullock on Tuesday. Bullock visited the Blacksburg campus over the weekend, liked what he saw, and it didn’t take him long to make things official.

Bullock has been Tech’s top quarterback target over the last month.  He picked the Hokies over Rutgers and UCLA, and he also had offers from Boston College, Syracuse and Duke.  As a junior in 2019, he passed for 2,274 yards with 26 touchdowns and only five interceptions.  He also ran for 480 yards and six touchdowns.

Bullock becomes Tech’s 10th commitment of the 2021 recruiting class.  He is rated the No. 21 player in New Jersey by 247Sports, and No. 15 in the state by the 247 Composite.  Rivals ranks him No. 11 in New Jersey.  He is 6-4, 223.

We’ll have a video interview with Bullock for TSL Pass subscribers later today.

  1. DD is gone. Who Cares. It wasn’t meant to be. It doesn’t matter what their stars are. This is a great pickup for the Hokies. This kid sounds like he’s ready to get to business and appears he’ll be a great fit. I cant wait for a ten win season this year and a birth in the ACC championship game.

  2. Feels good to get old “Moe” back on our side. Really excellent pickup for VT. Without an excellent QB at the helm teams rarely have a chance at anything above mediocrity. Bullock’s arrival will line up perfectly to assume the head job in just a few years. Great pickup coaches.

  3. Kid can flat out throw the ball and is already prototypical size. Big commitment for sure!

  4. One of the better announcement videos, shows a lot of humility & maturity.

  5. So call me crazy but landing a pro-sized stud from Jersey and losing a 5’11’ guy from Texas seems like a step up for the Hokies.

    1. Russel Wilson, Drew Brees, and that other stud kid from Oklahoma are all 5-11

      1. Ya if you watch the tape DD looks more dynamic and a better passer. Still a good pickup though!

      2. Yes, there are always exceptions. BTW Wilson is 5-10.5. But this is not normal of course. There is the old adage about short QB not being able to see as well over the OL. Hey UCLA does not recruit OL less than 6-4. At least that was in the past. Harder times may have forced them to not be as picky.

    2. possibly more like 5-10 given the exaggeration that happens in recruiting. If you are a short QB, you better be faster than everyone else.

  6. Welcome to the fun; Hokies are about to win a lot of games in the future.

  7. Frankly, to me he looks at least as good as DD, but I would we interested in the opinion of smarter folks than myself.

  8. Welcome to the Hokies! Any chance we can get him to bring his WR#11 to VT!??

  9. I will personally take Tahj over DD any day. Great job recruiters and a big Hokie welcome to Tahj.

    1. Tech needs to recruit New Jersey harder than they have. Tech has always been attractive to students from that state. Tech’s image in New Jersey is very favorable. I can say the same thing for Maryland.

  10. Class act …. I hope he stays true to his commitment …. he’s going to make some noise at the collegiate level …..

    Go Hokies
