Danijel Miletic
Offensive Line, Class of 2021
Germany
6-4, 290

Virginia Tech received a commitment from offensive guard Danijel Miletic on Wednesday afternoon.  Miletic is Virginia Tech’s 10th verbal commitment of the 2021 recruiting class.

For the second year in a row, Virginia Tech has gone to Europe to sign a player.  Miletic lives in Germany, where he has played for the Darmstadt Diamonds.   He is originally from Serbia. He is listed at 6-4, 290, and he also has offers from UCF and East Carolina.  He plans to play football in the United States as a senior.

Miletic has been working closely with former Cincinnati Bengals’ offensive line coach Paul Alexander, who had this to say about his protégé…

Miletic is the first offensive line commitment of the 2021 recruiting class.

  1. I’m a little confused here, “plans to play football in the US as a senior”? That’s a high school senior, right? Just that he plays for football clubs in Germany and I don’t really know what that means.

    1. as I understand it, european schools (high schools & colleges) do not have sports teams. players join local amateur club teams or the development academies of pro teams

    2. here’s a quote from a class of 2020 offensive linemen from the Diamonds who is enrolling at Temple this year.. comparing amenities at Temple to the top-tier soccer league in Germany. College sports in the USA has to be mind blowing for the rare prospects from other countries who get scouted and have the talent to get recruited.

“It was just awesome. The university is like nothing I have seen in Germany. The attention and food we received from Temple is at least comparable to a soccer Bundesliga team in Germany.

  2. I wonder how many big schools will now be after him to flip, and how committed he is to the good guys?

  3. Soooo difficult to evaluate linemen. Does he love football? Is he athletic enough? Does he have a good physical and mental work ethic? Does he have the body structure to become a D1 lineman? If the coaches feel like the answers are yes to these questions, then you take a chance.

    1. Certainly comes highly recommended by a former OL coach for the NFL. The guy was calling out some big time programs that he would start for and all but said the kid has NFL written all over him.

  4. How do u even go about recruiting Europe?? Hopefully he’ll bring some nastiness to the OL a la Grove and Teller

    1. There is a agent a guy named Brandon Collier that runs a group that runs interference for European players. Makes contact sends vids etc. We probably didn’t have to work that hard, couple of phone calls. Can coach size

  5. Saw a brief clip of him going up against a DL committed to ND, I think. To my eyes, he made it look easy.

  6. Check out Brandon Collier’s twitter as well- 265lb 15 yo DL

  7. A couple of years ago I was laughing at BM (Bronco Mendenhall) for recruiting European football players. Times have changed…

  8. He has an older brother David who also looks like he plays DL. I wonder if he is related to Daniel Miletic (41) who looks like a professional German soccer player?

  9. Danijel Miletic welcome to Hokie Nation. I think after a few years with Hilgart and Vice and this guy will be a dominate lineman. Glad he’s a Hokie. Who’s next?
