The Case For John Ojiako

John Ojiako, Virginia Tech
John Ojiako has gotten more minutes recently. Could even more be in the works? (Jon Fleming)

Virginia Tech freshman center John Ojiako has seen more playing time over the last two games, and I think his recent improvement is evident to everyone who has been watching the Hokies.  I’m glad, because I admit that I was getting a little bit worried, even though that worry was unfounded.

I don’t foresee writing about Khadim Sy too many times in the future, but hear me out.  When Buzz Williams signed Sy, Buzz said he had a tremendous amount of potential as a big man.  Personally, I never saw it.  He played 11.4 minutes per game as a freshman at Tech, and I didn’t think he looked particularly skilled.  I just didn’t see the same things that Buzz claimed to see.
