Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment on Sunday afternoon from 2020 wide receiver Dallan Wright.  He becomes the 15th member of Tech’s 2020 recruiting class.

Wright had a big senior season, catching 87 passes for 1,508 yards and recording 25 touchdowns.  As he told Jason Stamm in a recent article, he was more focused on basketball until his senior season and didn’t attend many recruiting camps.

Wright visited Virginia Tech officially over the weekend, and he will sign with the Hokies on Wednesday.  He will be one of two wide receivers signed in the 2020 class, joining Florida native Tyree Saunders.

  1. It is so positive and heartwarming to read these comments. Welcome to the world of Hokies Dallan Wright. Glad to have you aboard. Get that degree for a more secure future.

  2. Glad we got this guy before other programs found out about him. With hard work he can be a special player.

  3. Wow. This young man is going to be a terrific Hokie football player. He seems to be able to catch Tough throws and run, but he is already the best blocking receiver I’ve seen other than Keene. And he’s in High School!! Coach Williams and his teammates will love him! In one of his highlights, he took out two Defenders to help his teammate get to the house. His blocks were good, clean, and nasty. And he seemed to sense who was the immediate threat to the runner. I can see him starting in 2020. Pardon my hyperbole, but this is an amazing recruit.
