Robert Wooten
Defensive End, Class of 2020
Stafford High School, Stafford, TX
6-3, 230

Virginia Tech received a verbal commitment from Stafford High School (Stafford, TX) defensive end Robert Wooten on Tuesday night.  He will sign his Letter of Intent with the Hokies on Wednesday morning.

Wooten becomes the 12th member of the 2020 recruiting class, and the third member of the defensive line.  He was previously committed to Missouri before head coach Barry Odom was fired.  He also held offers from programs such as Arizona, Arizona State, Texas Tech, Cal, Arkansas, Syracuse, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.

Wooten might not be the only defensive end from Texas to become a member of this recruiting class, with fellow defensive end Alec Bryant set to announce his decision on Wednesday.
