Virginia Tech played one more true freshman against Wake Forest, though he only saw action on special teams and will still likely redshirt.  Here are the updated snap counts for Virginia Tech’s true freshmen this year.

WR Tayvion Robinson: 12 special teams snaps, 280 offensive snaps, 292 total snaps.  Robinson continued to play offense, and he also saw his first special teams action since early in the season when he took over as punt returner in the second half.  He did very well in that role (44 yards on two returns), and it could possibly continue in the coming weeks.

DT Mario Kendricks: 6 special teams snap, 198 defensive snaps, 204 total snaps.  Kendricks has appeared in all nine games for the Hokies, and he is entrenched firmly in the two-deep.  More on his grades later in the article.

DT Norell Pollard: 26 special teams snaps, 308 defensive snaps, 334 total snaps.  DaShawn Crawford’s return has cut into Norell Pollard’s snaps, but the true freshman is still getting a lot of reps at defensive tackle.  He continues to play well.
