Marco Lee Commits To Virginia Tech

Marco Lee
Running Back, Class of 2020
Coffeyville Community College, Coffeyville, KS
5-11, 225

Virginia Tech added an unexpected commitment on Friday night when Coffeyville Community College running back Marco Lee gave his verbal pledge.  He becomes the tenth member of the 2020 recruiting class.

Lee is technically the fourth running back commit of the class, though there are major doubts over whether Jordan Brunson will qualify.  Lee leads Coffeyville with 820 rushing yards, and he’s averaging 5.2 yards per carry.  He has nine rushing touchdowns on the season.

Virginia Tech needs a bigger running back to shoulder some of the rushing load, and with Jalen Holston coming off surgery, the Tech coaching staff decided to add the 5-11, 225 running back to their roster.  He is originally a native of Georgia.

  1. Our longest run for a TD by a back this year is 6 yards. Nice to see a back that can score from outside the red zone – We have been missing that more than speed. If King can get more reps, he could help us here as well. One of our biggest weaknesses.

  2. It is really refreshing to have a recruit that knows the official name of our great university!

    1. He’s from Georgia. Coffeyville seems to be a JUCO magnet. JUCO ball isn’t played everywhere. I am not aware of a single JUCO program in Virginia. Think more like Fork Union used to be with players from all over the place.

  3. Welcome to the Hokie Nation ! You will find Tech fans to be the best and VT will be Home!!!! All aboardddddddddddddddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
